FINANCIAL COACHING

Financial coaching is the cornerstone of the Centers for Working Families (CWF) model. CWF's help  people take control of their finances through a step-by-step plan to address immediate challenges, as well as set long-term goals.  Two examples of financial stability products to aid clients on their path to financial stability include: LISC Twin Account and the UWSEM Microgrant Program.

 

Additional financial literacy services include:

 

  • Understand your relationship with money

  • Create a balanced household budget

  • Know your credit score

  • Access free and low-cost banking services to avoid check cashing fees 

  • Manage debt 

  • Enroll in matched savings programs (IDAs)

  • Learn strategies to start saving 

  • Pay for education, buy a home, start a business

  • Plan for retirement

  • Maximize employer benefits
